who is reFuel?
Its board of directors leads the non-profit reFuelNOW ministry: Brent and Kelly Helming and Bill and Sue McLeod. Both Brent and Bill are ordained ministers with many years of pastoral and ministry experience. Currently Brent and Bill support their local churches through service in a non-staff capacity.

Brent Helming is a seasoned worship leader and teacher who has spent over 16 years in a variety of ministry and pastoral positions. He has overseen worship ministries in both small and large churches as well as taught and lead worship for conferences both nationally and internationally. Brent’s songs have been recorded by both Vineyard and Maranatha! Music, as well as various christian artists, such as By The Tree. He has also been a featured writer, as well as guest editor, for “Inside Worship” magazine and has contributed articles on worship for various websites and publications. His interactive workbook, “Hot Tips for Worship Leaders” has been published in several different languages and continues to be used as a helpful tool for beginning worship leaders. Brent and his wife Kelly currently reside in the North County of San Diego.
After a radical and profound born-again experience in 1984, Kelly made a life-long committment to Jesus. Her journey led her quickly into service playing the piano at her local church. The Lord has continued to see fit to use her to help facilitate corporate worship through music, primarily on the keyboard.
Throughout the seasons of her walk with Christ since 1984, one constant has remained: her service to him as a worshipper through music. With joy she has watched her children, Nathan and Lizzy, grow into worshippers through music themselves and she delights to minister with them on occasion.

Since meeting the Lord at a small start-up church in the suburbs of Detroit Michigan called Fisherman’s Net in 1976, Bill has been serving the body of Christ in the capacities of worship leader, small group leader, teacher and pastor. In the early 80’s Bill moved his family to Ft. Lauderdale Florida where he connected with Vineyard church planter, Jack Little and helped plant the Vineyard Church there. In 1990 the McLeod family moved from Florida to California to help plant the North Coast Vineyard church in Oceanside, which later became known as Grace Chapel of the Coast and is still there today. Bill’s passion for worship, leading God’s people in worship, and developing worship leaders has been at the core of his Christian walk since it began and continues today with his leadership role in reFuel, a dynamic, Spirit-led, Spirit-filled monthly worship event in the local community of churches throughout San Diego and Orange Counties.
Throughout her 40 year marriage, Sue has been a faithful wife and companion to her husband, a loving mother to 3 children and 4 grandchildren, and a loyal servant to the God she has come to know as Savior, Rescuer, and Restorer. Sue has been about her Father’s business, populating Heaven since coming to the Lord in 1975 and has continually and passionately served the body of Christ in various roles including ministries to children of all ages, leading bible studies, and organizing outreach events. However, Sue’s passion is ministering to younger women in group venues as well as personal, one-on-one mentoring. A natural-born networker, Sue’s contribution to reFuel is priceless. In addition to organizing and hosting a national support team of prayer partners, implementing the themes for reFuel events and logistical oversight, Sue always makes time to personally reach out and gather up displaced worshippers.
